Apple Picking!

This weekend Big A joined us for the start of a season of fall fun!

Saturday night we even played a game of tackle football in the backyard!

On Sunday we took our first trip to the apple orchard!     It was small but fun.  A few animals to pet and some hay bales to climb and then we were off to get picking!  Abigail had to show us the correct way to pick apples, it was cute!  Abby loved being independent and picking all the apples that she could get her hands on!  Plus she loved getting some extra height from dad for those apples up high!

Overall a great weekend and kick off to fall.....so great that she was asleep by 650pm!  Parenting win right there!

First Day of 4K

On September 1st,  Abigail started 4k through the Wausau School District at the downtown YMCA.    Her teacher is Ms Jordyn and she goes in the afternoons.

Her first day was a little cautious at first but when I went to pick her up, her teacher was happy to report that she loved it and talked non-stop!  She even had to tell her teacher about the frogs at grandma and papa's house!

In the mornings she is with a smaller set of kids and is flourishing!    She has really adjusted to school very well, we are very proud!   It is amazing to see how much she has learned in just a few days!

We are looking forward to see what this school year brings for our little girl!  So many opportunities await her!

Here are her 1st day pics!

The end of August

In true Lindsey fashion,  we took the opportunity at the end of August to squeeze in one last minute family vacation!    Matt was able to go to a Brewer's game with some friends from high school and Abigail and I got to spent some relaxing time in Wonewoc!

On sunday of that weekend, we ran off to the Kalahari Resort in the Dells for some last minute summer fun. Abbyloves the waterparks so this was perfect!    We all enjoyed one last waterpark trip and since Abby had never been here before, it was fun to watch her experience it all.  We noticed this trip that her confidence in water had grown so much and she was very good with helping a boy on the water slides!  Makes for happy parents!

When Monday morning rolled around we headed to the Timbavati Wildlife Park in the Dells.  Ok, Matt and I were a little unsure how it would be since it is in the middle of the Dells, but we were both pleasantly surprised!   After feeding a huge pond of coy fish,  we got to see a 7 month old spider monkey play with his parents!   We got to pet a baby zebra,  a baby kangaroo,  camels, goats and many other exotic animals.  It was amazing how hands on the zoo was!  They even had a building just for the baby animals so we got to see baby fox, baby lynx, baby tigers, and many others!

On ourway home we stopped in Portage to see the one and only Aunt Jamie!  It is amazing to see how excited Abby gets as soon as she sees her!  We squeezed in a yummy lunch and a stop at a unique store in the downtown area!   Overall a great ending to a fun weekend!

It was great to spend this time together before the chaos of the school year hit.

Below are some pictures of our fun time....
