Before school started, we went down to Stevens Point for an afternoon of fun.
We hit up Kash Park which is always a good time.
We adventured out to Schmeckle Reserve to experience some nature. We saw frogs, birds, ducks and a deer. It was a fun time hiking and climbing into the tree house they have.
Our trip finished off with a treat at Belts. This was Matt's first time and he was not disappointed.
Overall a fun day trip as a family!
We took a family day and headed up north to a zoo. The weather was Seattle-like, but we made the most of it.
The first part of the zoo was rather hands on so this girl was in heaven until the goats started jumping. This zoo also has white tailed deer that are loose and you can feed them. Neat but a little overwhelming at times.
Abigail got to feed the giraffe also which was a fun and fast experience! We also went into the bird area with a little hesitation due to the huge number of budgie birds in there. After we got a stick that had bird seed on it, the smiles and laughs started. Those flying nuts were all over us, they landed on our arms, heads, and loves shoelaces! One even tried to climb into Matt's jacket! Abby was having a great time and laughing so hard. For someone who is not a huge fan of birds, it was amazing and fun!
This kid has such a love of animals (unless they stink!). She has little fear of any animal and thinks they are all 'soooo cute!' To make things even better, they even had Papas favorite animal....a hyena!
Overall a fun and relaxing day together.
One weekend day Matt and I took Abigail over to the local Splash Pad. This girl had a great time and it was wonderful to see her huge smile and hear her laugh!

Abigail's first day of Kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary!
This little girl walked in and was super excited to get her day started. She was ready to see some of her friends from 4K and meet new ones. She is ready to learn and grow.
Her teacher is Mrs Peterson and she has adjusted very well to our new normal now that school is back. The before and after care is working out great, huge relief to this mom!
We are excited to see what this year brings and we are so proud of her!
This may be a few weeks late but wanted to document Abigail's 5th Birthday Party.
Abigail wanted a small gathering and that is what she got. She chose tacos for lunch and Matt smoked us some pulled pork and ribs for dinner.
Our little girl is super a lucky and loved child. She enjoyed her day very much and loved having all her family around to play with her.
Her cake was her request.....a Space Needle! Was rather funny to order this from 2510, I told them that I wanted it to say Happy 5th Birthday Abigail and include a picture of the space needle. The lady asked if it was a 50th birthday, I told her no, 5th Birthday. She laughed and said that this is a first. Love that Abigail is her own person.
Gifts were another hit as you would expect. Legos, playmobil, a bike and clothes made her a happy girl.
Overall a successful and fun day to celebrate our 5 year old!

What am exciting a fun year we had last year. You completed 4K and have shown us that you love learning! We enjoyed hearing about the new facts you learned and hearing the new songs. Your thirst for knowledge was such a wonderful beacon as you embark on your journey through your school years.
Abigail you have become a confident and brave girl over the past year. This year started with some struggles both for you and your mom and dad, but in true Abigail fashion, you have overcome any struggle and grown by leaps and bounds!
I love that you are turning into your own person and your imagination is superb! Your uniqueness is infectious and I hope that never dulls.
The love of dogs and animals continues (which is music to my heart!). Koda and Watson love you most of the time and truly love you when you play the treat-keep away game!
This past year has provided us with the opportunity to travel to Seattle to see Andrew. That truly has sparked a fire inside of you to travel. We love to hear about where you all want to go and can't wait to experience all those places with you. You are an incredibly great traveler who embraces all the new experiences with excitement.....plus having Uncle Andrew there was a total BONUS!
As we start on your 5th year I hope that fire inside continues to burn as strong as possible. I want you to keep that qwest for knowledge and that desire to travel and experience the world. We hope you keep your confidence high and your love strong. Keep surprising us with your witty comments and bold statements.
Your mom and dad are beyond proud of the person you are....we love you beyond words and will always support you!
Let's make this next year one to remember....let's smile more, laugh harder and love stronger! Bring it on.....and remember we can always go "Downtown!"

March was another fun month for us. The weather started to warm up and our spring break trip was getting really close.
Abigail continues to be wild and fun self and the boys sure keep me on my toes.
Basketball came to an end so we adjusted to having Matt around again.
