6 Weeks Old

Tomorrow, Abigail will be 6 weeks old!  This week has been pretty "normal" for us - which is nice.  Matt has been busy with school and all that comes with it and I have been taking care of things at home, prepping for the upcoming Baptism dinner, and taking care of Abigail.

Matt has started to put the doors in the basement - they look amazing!  I guess the next step is to order furniture for the family room so that we can get a paint color picked out and on the walls before the flooring goes in!  Step by step, we will get it done.

This coming weekend Jamie is coming up to visit - we can't wait.  It will be nice to have her visit, spend time with Abby, and hopefully her and I can squeeze in a pedicure.  My parents will be coming into town, but then will be leaving as they are heading down to the Dells for a concert - it is nice that they are stopping to see Abigail and visit a little.

As for changes/growth in Abigail, she has started smiling now.  She had a few random smiles a while ago, but now these smiles are more frequent and directed at us - such a great feeling to see her smile back at us.  She still is talking all the time and getting the hang of sleeping more at night.  She LOVES to be held, so if I want to get lots done in a day, I end of putting her in the front carrier and going about my business.  The carrier does hurt my back after a while and makes bending down hard, but it is all worth it.  We are going to introduce a bottle of breast milk soon, keeping my fingers crossed that it goes well.  It will be nice to be able to have the option to bottle feed her if needed and since she has the breastfeeding thing down like a pro, we feel it is safe to introduce a bottle.

Here are some pictures from this past week - enjoy and have a great weekend!!

Another Weekend Gone

Now it is Monday morning, Matt is gone to work, Koda is sleeping in the chair, and Abigail and I are snuggling on the couch.  Another weekend has come and gone again - rather sad at how fast they come and go!!

This weekend was a fun, relaxing and productive weekend at our house.  My parents came up for a wedding in the area and were able to squeeze in time with Abby and us.  They enjoyed holding and watching Abigail - they sure have noticed how much she has grown and changed.  It is always nice to have them at our house and Koda loves having Sparky and Beaker here to play with.

Matt and my dad went and picked up the doors for the basement.  They are beautiful and it will be nice to have some doors down there soon.  Matt is battling the "priority issue" of what to do each night after school/work - he has school work, Abby time, dinner/relaxation and the basement all on his mind all the time.  We understand that we will get the basement done, it will just take a little longer now that we have added Abigail to our family.  Matt and I also worked on going through things that were stored in the garage during this construction process.  Gosh, that is a job in itself, but we are getting through things and hopefully downsizing a little.

Saturday afternoon, Matt, Abigail and I went to church for the first time since she was born.  It was fun to go back and fun to see the faces of all who got to see our little girl.  Less than 2 weeks and Abigail will be baptized - which will be a great day!

Abigail is still doing great and growing like crazy.  She is a very strong willed girl who wants to hold up her head on her own!!  She is still very vocal, even when she sleeps!

Below are some pictures from this past weekend - enjoy!

5 Weeks Old

Seems like I have been doing a weekly post, so I will continue with that!

Tomorrow marks 5 weeks since Abigail was born - 5 weeks since I became a mom - and 5 weeks since our lives have been forever changed.

This past week Abigail has interacted more and more - it is so much fun to watch her!!  She loves to look at toys, her crib soother, Matt and I, and her favorite thing to watch is KODA!!!   She whips her head around to look at him when she hears him coming or enter the room - it is quite cute.  Guess she is my daughter - she LOVES dogs!!  We are getting really close to a smile, but to be honest, I think she smiled at Koda once already yesterday - go figure!!  I know it will come with time and I should not rush it, but I am looking forward to when she smiles at me.  That girl melts my heart now and a smile from her will melt it even more!

This week has been rather nice - Matt is gone to work and Abigail, Koda and I are at home.  We have started to work on some Christmas gifts (handmade), clean up around the house, relaxed, and taken long walks to enjoy the fall weather that we have received.  We manage to squeeze in playtime each and every day along with plenty of snuggle time too!!

Last weekend we had a great visit with Matt's family and Abigail got to meet her great grandparents (Kathy's mom and dad).  They were thrilled to meet her and it was great to share her with them.  Visiting family is always great and it is even greater to see the joy and happiness that our daughter brings to others.

This weekend my parents will be in town to attend a wedding - so they get to spend more time with Abigail. Not sure what else is planned, but it will be nice to visit and spend time with them again.

Well, here are some pictures of our cute little girl.  Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Just a quick update

Just wanted to post some new pictures of our little girl from the past few days.  Abigail is still doing great and  growing more and more each day.  She is loving toys that make noise and watching Koda - it is amazing how much she has changed from day to day.

4 Weeks Old

Sweet little Abigail is now 4 weeks old and growing like crazy.  We have had such a great time watching her grow and change each and every day.

Today we went to the doctor and got a clean bill of health.  The doctor is very happy with how she is growing and how she is developing - makes for a happy set of parents!!  She is now 21.25 inches long and weighs in at 9 pounds 12 ounces.  I can tell that she has grown quite a bit since her last appointment, so it was nice to see the actual numbers.  Since she is doing so well, her next appointment will be when she is two months old!

This past week was a fun and different week for our house.  We left Matt here alone and Koda, Abigail and I went to my parents from Sunday to Thursday.  It was Abigail's first long car ride and she did amazingly wonderful - which is nice since we are the family who seems to travel lots!!!  Koda graciously shared his backseat with her and all went well.  We enjoyed our time visiting with family friends from the area, doing some shopping (including some Christmas shopping), and spending time at home in the evenings.  Abigail also got some serious grandma and grandpa time in.

Tomorrow we are going on another road trip down to visit Matt's family - Abigail needs some more grandma and grandpa time, along with meeting her great grandparents for the first time.  She will also be able to squeeze in some time with her aunt and uncle too - which is wonderful!!  We are all looking forward to going there and showing off our growing little girl!

This past week, Abby has continued to grow and change.  She wants to hold her head up on her own when you have her sitting straight up and she is kicking more and more when you hold her so her feet are touching something.  She doesn't mind "tummy time" and it won't be long until she learns to move and roll over!!!  She is still a talker, not sure what she always has to talk to us about, but she sure does make her voice heard.  Abigail is still sleeping and eating great and has learned to like baths as long as she is not cold.

We have all enjoyed watching her change and grow.  I totally understand the saying that time flies - it seems like she is growing faster than ever.  We have already had to go through her clothes and remove the newborn size since they were getting too small.  Crazy how fast our little girl is growing!

Here are a few snapshots from this past week - sorry nothing much since we were busy and didn't take too many pictures....until next time/post - enjoy!

3 Weeks Old

Abigail is now 3 weeks old - crazy how time flies when you are totally in love with a little sweet girl like her!

This past week has been so much fun - sorry for not making any posts, but we were busy!!

Labor Day weekend Matt's parents came to spend some time with us and snuggle with Abigail.  It was great to share her with them - they both agree that she has grown since they last saw her.  It was a nice weekend of relaxing, watching the Badger football game and Brewer game, and spending time together.  Abigail even ventured out to her first sit down meal at a local Mexican restaurant.

Matt started school on Tuesday so he has been back to the "real world" for a few days now.  I think he misses his little girl, so it is nice to have him home after school.

My mom came up for the week - which was wonderful.  We did some shopping at the mall and some other stores, made cookies, cleaned up the house, took lots of walks, a few loads of laundry, and just had a great time.  Time always seems to fly by when we are together - but we made sure that she got to spend lots of time holding and snuggling with Abigail.  She was a huge help with my little girl - not to mention she had a great time picking out clothes/outfits for the day and spending the first few minutes with her when she woke up every morning.  My mom changed lots of diapers and gave Abigail 2 baths - and she loved every minute of it!  I loved every minute that we got to spend together and am so glad that she got to spend this much time with Abigail when she is so young.

This next week I will be taking Abigail and Koda on our first solo, long road trip.  We are going to spend a few days over by my parents.  Really wish Matt could come along - we will all miss him while we are gone.

This weekend Matt and I are home and I don't think we have much planned other than mowing lawn and some other minor household chores.  I am betting that Matt will spend lots of time with his little girl - especially before they are apart next week.

As for changes in Abigail - there have been lots of them in the last week or so.  Here are some of the major ones:
-She follows voices or noises and wants to see where they are coming from.
-Loves to watch Koda or any of the dogs in the house when they play
-Is awake for hours at a time, just looking around and moving
-Is a super strong kicker!!!
-Talks lots, even in her sleep!!
-Wants to be moving or sitting up - still is not a fan of laying flat!
-Seems to want to roll over when we try to change her diaper.
-Puts up with tummy time for a while, but then voices her dislike.

So, now onto the pictures - here are some from the last week....enjoy!
