New Hairstyle

The last few days when I go to pick up Abigail from daycare, her hair has been played with by her teachers. They just love the fact that she has this much hair and can't seem to just leave it alone.  We don't mind and we think it is cute!  Below are some pictures from today, yesterday it was done up with a hot pink ribbon!  I am just thrilled that they really seem to enjoy Abigail and Abigail loves going there each day.

Also below are some other pictures of her playing in the living room in her Bumbo seat.  Yes, as you can tell, she is a drooling monster right now.  No teeth yet, but we wouldn't be surprised if they started soon!

Hard Week

This past week has been a rough one at our home - Abigail has her first cold.  And to make matters worse, she has graciously shared it with me!  It doesn't seem to bother Abigail as much as I would have thought - thank goodness.  Guess we are getting into the "daycare way of things" right away!

A few nights we had rough sleeping but this past weekend we are back to almost normal.  She still has a stuffy nose and a cough, but I think it is getting a little better.  I am trying to tackle this cold with little to no medications (due to breastfeeding) - but man, I sure would love to take some!  Oh well, in a few days we will be better!

This past weekend, my parents came up for some Abigail Time and they were able to give a little break from Abby.  It was a great and relaxing weekend - much needed!   I feel like a whole new person this afternoon!  I have no idea how moms do this working thing with more than one kid - I give you all credit!

Abigail continues to love daycare and is still growing like crazy.  She has now eaten green beans and peas - she likes them mostly except for a few funny faces now and then.  Guess we are going to try some orange veggies this week!

Fun Weekend

This past weekend, Abigail, Koda and I went to Mishicot to visit my parents and go to a Thirty-One party that my mom was hosting.  It was a great weekend of relaxing and having a good time.

After the Thirty-One party, my cousin Kelly's son (Ian) was messing around in Abigail's Bumbo seat - which he is too big for.  We all laughed so hard - that little boy is so funny!  Below are some pictures of him - too cute!

Abigail was great the entire weekend and I think she loves my parent's dog Beaker.  Beaker didn't even mind that Abigail was grabbing his fur or ears.  Nice to know that he is ok with her and even better to know that Abigail LOVES dogs (just like her mom!)  Below are some pictures of Abigail from this weekend.

Oh yeah, the three dogs in one kennel - we just had to try it - it was funny!  They always say curiosity killed the cat - well I guess, curiosity kenneled the dogs!

5 Months Old

Ok - I know it is a day early, but as a working mom, I will take this chance because I never know when I will get another one.....crazy busy!!!

Tomorrow our little Abigail turns 5 months old - crazy but so amazing.  We are loving every minute of it....actually as I type this, she is playing in the Exer-saucer and "talking" up a storm.  She is growing so fast and learning new things every day.  Matt and I both think that she is getting longer/taller every day!

Daycare is going great and Abigail is loving it.  She seems pretty exhausted when she comes home - lots of stuff to watch there.  Tomorrow Matt starts back to work and Abigail starts full days at daycare.  Guess"normal" life is back now!  Sure was nice to have her home this long - we are very lucky people to have been given the opportunities to stay home with her this long!

A week of change

This week is a week of change at our house for all members of our family.  Abigail starts daycare this week - she will be going for just the mornings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and then will be there full time on Thursday and Friday.  Matt starts back to work on Thursday.  Koda will finally have to be alone during the day (something that he has not had to deal with since June!!).  Nothing really changes for me except that our routine is changing once again.

Today we are going to pack up and label things for daycare.  I am kind of excited for her to go - I know, sounds weird coming from a mom, but it will be great for her to get to play and interact with other children.  She seems to love to watch things that are going on around her so I think the change of scenery and such at daycare will be good entertainment from her.  I am not looking forward to her getting sick for the first time, which I know will happen after she starts going on a regular basis.  We have been lucky enough to have her totally healthy this long (she will be 5 months old on Thursday!).

Everything at our place is good.  Matt continues to coach basketball and Abigail and I have gone to all the home games thus far and some of the closer away games.  She really enjoys watching the girls run up and down the court and gets excited when she hears her dad talk - she tries to find where he is, it is totally adorable!  My work is going good - crazy busy and stressful, but I am trying my best to keep the stress level down and work hard while I am there.  We had a nice visit with Matt's parents this weekend (Friday to Saturday) and enjoyed a nice quiet evening last night.  Next weekend, Matt is busy with basketball so Abigail, Koda and I are heading to Mishicot for the weekend and for a Thirty-One party that my mom is having.  I am sure it will be a crazy busy weekend like always there - but it will be nice to spend time with them.

Abigail continues to love her cereal - which she is now getting twice a day.  She has now started to roll over from her belly to her back consistently.  She loves to grab at things (my hair, any part of Koda that she can get a hold of, toys, chip clips, etc) and stand up as much as possible.  She has been sleeping pretty good lately but has been getting up once a time to eat and then back to bed.  She continues to grow like a weed and I think she is getting longer each day....she doesn't seem very chubby anymore either!
 
Weather is cold here again, but we did have a couple of days of great weather with temps in the mid to high 30s.  Guess that is what we have to deal with for winter in Wisconsin!!   Well I better get some stuff done around the house while she is napping.  Hope you all have a great week this week!!

Mid-Week Pictures

Things are going great at our house.  Matt is savoring his last full week as a stay-at-home dad and we are preparing ourselves for the start of daycare.  We are really happy with our daycare so we are not nervous about her being there - it is just another step and change in our lives.

Abigail is doing great - eating cereal two times a day now and loving it.  She is starting to pull on Koda's fur if he is close enough to her.  Koda just walks away and looks a little irritated.  In time, they will become best friends and get into trouble together!

Since this is the first full week after the holidays, I wanted to provide you with some mid-week pictures of our little girl.  Hope it brings a smile to your face!

Better Cereal Pictures

Tonight Matt was able to get some better rice cereal eating pictures of Abigail.  She really enjoyed the cereal tonight and was a little sad that it was gone!

Rice Cereal

As of 12/29 - Abigail has started eating rice cereal.  She is a great eater (sometimes too great) and she shows a great interest in cups, bottles, silverware, and anytime we put anything into our mouths - so we felt it was time to introduce solid foods.  She only gets it once per day right now, but we will increase as she gets more used to it. 

The first day we made the rice cereal according to the directions on the box.  This was super runny and hard to feed her with a spoon. She didn't hate it but didn't love it either!  The next day we made it thicker and she really did great with it.  Each day that we feed her she is getting better and better and gets excited when I bring the spoon up to her mouth. 

This has been a fun new step in parenthood for Matt and I.  We are excited to start other veggies and fruits in time and have already made some and have it ready in our freezer.  Hopefully her eagerness will continue as we introduce new foods, flavors and textures.
